  1. OK here goes. I'm likely going to get a lot of negative feed back here but here's my take on this. I too went through that agonizingly slow process of getting to goal. It drove me nuts! Down a fraction one week, up a fraction another week...ugg! But hear me out, when you started WW they set your daily points high right? Then as you lose weight you lose daily points. See where I'm going with this? I found I was at 26 points for a long time so I dropped down at the end. And I lost. I'm not saying go crazy and starve yourself but it makes sense doesn't it? Smaller people need to eat less than larger people. You my dear are a smaller person now. Try going to 24 daily points for a week, and if you get hungry use your "freebies". Baby carrots, cucumbers etc. I know what people say about the whole starvation mode thing but it's just basic science. In order to lose weight you have to eat less calories than your body is using. Hopefully you will get over your plateau soon, because I know how badly you want to get to goal! The hard core WW people aren't going to agree with this but it worked for me. Please don't be offended Kelly I'm just offering some advice from someone who has been in your shoes, actually about a year ago. Tomorrow is my 1 year anniversary of reaching goal at WW :-)

  2. some positive thoughts since i'm old enough to be your Mami and this is what i'd tell one of my kids:
    1. you're happier than I've seen you since I started reading your blog-that accounts for something.
    2. there's something to be said about the kickarse feeling after a hard workout and knowing you did it-that right there is pretty priceless too.
    3. losing weight in the dead of winter when bodies NATURALLY hold on to fat...it's better than gaining or maintaining!
    4. wait til you try on the clothes~ THEN get pissed off, jeh. sometimes we're reshaping and that's also a positive.
    5. have you tried trader joe's chocolate whey protein powder? substitute that for yogurt a week and see if it helps [heh I had to give one constructive thing, right? not just pep talk.
    6. getting pissed off does nothing but make us question everything we're doing RIGHT- ah don't go there!
and finally...[yes, there is an end to this post- ;p] sometimes we go through these times as a test of how we deal with disappointment--test our resolve...or character~ pass the test! keep strong! and watch what happens. now go have a productive weekend, caray! :)

  3. You look fabulous and don't let this frustrate you.

I know this may sound far fetched, but have you ever thought about giving your body a break for a week. I don't mean sit on the couch for a week, but how about don't exercise for a week. Do something every day that is fun and will put a smile on your face. Then start working again the week after. I know it sounds crazy, but sometimes your body needs a break so it can get thru that next push. Think about the times you take a breal from something that stresses you out and that break helps you clear your head. This may be the same for your body.

  4. A friend of mine lost 50 lbs and can't lose anymore, but she does Boot Camp 3 days a week and she's getting smaller and smaller every week. Don't be frustrated! I agree that you are working out too much. 3-4 days a week is plenty. Another is do you ever surprise your body by feeding it total crap. My friend ate perfectly clean for 6 days a week and every Friday night had a small pizza and poutine (fries, cheese and gravy) and a ginger ale. (She gave up all pop otherwise) The weight kept coming off. Her nutritionist told her to do this, otherwise, your body thinks you're starving it and holds onto every calorie.

You're doing well and look awesome. What did you do to get those great arms. Did you ever have fat, flabby ones?

    1. Heather, I cannot eat junk food and expect to lose weight. Eating junk food is what got me to almost 300 pounds. And yes, there was a time when my arms were covered in flab and fat. I just always kept them covered.

    2. Some people can't eat any junk food. Your right about that! I am one of them.

Your arms are incredible! Any suggestions for good exercises for these big, fat arms of mine.

    3. You're right, some people can't eat any junk food or they hold onto every calorie. I'm one of them. :(

Any suggestions for exercises for these huge, fat arms of mine.

  5. And I have upped calories daily the last few weeks to include more lean protein and low fat dairy. So I am eating more than I was.

  7. The scale is still going down! Not fast enough for you, but it's so much better than gaining or even maintaining, right?

  8. I am having the same problem Kelly. My scale did not move this week. I am eating clean and exercising every day. I have definitely not been at a plateau as long as you have but it's killing me that I weigh 240 pounds and the scale wont move with all the work I'm doing. I don't have a suggestion, for myself I'm going to double the amount of time I workout to 2 hours per day and see if that changes any thing.

  9. You don't think its just because you gained muscle from bootcamp? I know you're not a fan of Biggest Loser but week 2 is notorious for being a small loss week. Your body is adjusting and using muscles in a different way with bootcamp. I know its frustrating when the scale doesn't show the hard work you are doing. I think if you give it another 2 weeks or so you'll start to see it on the scale. I hit a slump once I started adding protein after my workouts and now I'm good again.

  11. Hi Kelly! I'm so sorry you went through those two weeks and the scale didn't drop. I know you know the possible 'explanations' but it still blows. In the meantime, though, I was wondering if you've ever thought of getting a high-tech body fat test or maybe getting a home scale that has body fat percentage just so you know how you're doing there. The way you've committed to actual ass-kicking workouts and the way you're reshaping your body is crystal clear and I would imagine that your body composition if not actual pounds changed in the last two weeks.

  12. you look fab- maybe your body is at its happy weight right now? You are rocking it, building muscle, losing fat, and you look amazing. You look thin, toned, fit, and healthy. I am right about at your current weight and I think my body is good here (well Im up 5 lbs from my low but I digress lol). I bet you dont see how amazing you look when you look in the mirror. Its been like 10 years since I lost the bulk of my weight and I still see myself as a plus sized gal when I look in the mirror. Keep doing your thing, getting healthier & stronger! You are amazing!
